Treatment for excessive sweating

Medical experts also call excessive sweating as the hyperhidrosis condition. The primary function of the sweat in the human body is to control and regulate the body temperature. It has been found that in many cases fifty percent of the sufferers has had a family history of excessive sweating.

The hyperhidrosis condition affects mainly the palms of hands, feet, and the armpits. The treatment for hyperhidrosis only reduces the symptoms but it cannot cure the condition permanently. In the treatment of hyperhidrosis the anti perspirant that have Aluminum chloride solution are generally used, the branded anti perspirant include Drysol, driclor which give temporary relief for the sufferer from excessive sweating. The concentration of the aluminum chloride in the anti perspirant has to be fifteen percent for the effective treatment of hyperhidrosis. The use of this anti perspirant every day can show its results within a week. Xertac is another medical antiperspirant used in treating hyperhidrosis, but it is not as effective as Drysol

Surgery

The option of surgery in the treatment of excessive sweating is also considered for hyperhidrosis, in which the physician removes the sympathetic nerves in the chest by cutting them or by burning. This surgery is called as the Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy or ETS. The surgery impairs the nerves of their signal transmitting capacity.
