Heel Spurs are also known as Calcaneous' are the bulge's that are present in the Heels.
These problems are mainly faced due to the bones that are present around the heels. Immense pain can be caused due to these heel spurs. But if one can notice, the main is observed more when you wake up in the mornings than that in the night. Normally the people already suffering from foot problems or heel spurs can hit problems that are caused due to the plantar fasciitis.
Women as well as men from all age groups can suffer from these problems but the heel spurs target mainly the middle-aged people. Itching and inflammation are the symptoms of these heel spurs and the primary problems too. Heel spurs also appear in some patients who are suffering from plantar fasciitis, and tend to occur in patients who have this problem for along period of time.
Its seen that 70% of patients who are suffering with plantar fasciitis have a heel spur, and x-rays also show about 50% of patients with no symptoms plantar fasciitis also have a heel spur. A heel spur is also seen in patients who have a history of foot pains and problems caused by plantar fasciitis. The diagnosis of a heel spur is made via an X-ray scan which reveals the presence of a heel spur protruding from the bottom front edge of the heel bone.
The different forms of Bone spurs are:
1 Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH). This condition causes bony growths to form on the ligaments of your spine.
2 Plantar fasciitis. A bone spur, sometimes called a heel spur, can form where the connective tissue connects to your heel bone (calcaneus's). The spur results from long lasting irritation or inflammation of the connective tissue.
3 Spondylosis. In this condition, osteoarthritis and bone spurs cause degeneration of the bones in your neck (cervical spondylosis) or your lower back (lumbar spondylosis).
4 Spinal stenosis. Bone spurs can contribute to a narrowing of the bones that make up your spine (spinal stenosis), putting pressure on your spinal cord
