Is age a factor for kidney stone?
Kidney stone is the formation of concentrated solid in area of kidney. The solid substance is formed from the minerals that are dissolved in the urine. In many cases the symptoms cannot be seen in the patient suffering from the kidney stone. The problem from kidney stone arises only when the size of stone grows to considerable extent. It is responsible for pain in the lower abdomen. The main symptoms include the feeling of nausea and vomiting. There is also the possibility that one or more kidney stones are present in the kidney or ureter at the same time. Other symptoms include more frequency of urine, blood in the urine, fever, abnormal color of urine.
Causes of kidney stone
The formation of kidney stone is due to the fact that urine concentrates too much with some specific substances. Kidney stone is very common among men and women. No symptoms of kidney stone can be observed until they cause pain to the patient. With the increase in age the probability of getting affected with the kidney stone increases. The probability of kidney stone in women increases by five percent in women and ten percent among men with the increase in age. Person above the age of seventy are more prone to the kidney stone. The patients of kidney stone once being relieved from the stone problem can face this problem again in future. In case of premature baby, kidney stone is very common as there immune system is very weak. Some people can get affected by kidney stone due to hereditary factor and as the age increases this factor become stronger.
Natural and medical treatment of kidney stone
If the size of kidney stone is small then it can be dissolved by drinking ten to twelve glass of water in a day. This will dissolve the stone and it will pass through the urine. Some form of medication is also helpful to dissolve the kidney stone and regular medication will further reduce the probability of kidney stone arriving again. Medical treatment includes the shock treatment which breaks the stone into small particles and then it passes through urine. Surgery is used in some serious cases.
