Heel pain and running
Feet are capable to take lot of load but a lot of stress on the feet causes heel pain. Shoes are also responsible for heel pain, if they irritate the sensitive tissues of the feet. Heel pain can be of two type's pain beneath the heel and pain behind the heel.
Causes of heel pain in runners
Heel pain is mostly felt at the centre of the heel and spread till the arch of the feet. Some people affected with heel pain find it tough to walk after rest or in the morning. There are many ice packs available in the market which is specifically designed to relieve heel pain. Swelling in the heel can be reduced by intake of Ibrobrufen tablet. The tablet should be taken after meal and not before running. Taking rest or reduction in running will help to be relieved from running. In some major cases runners may be recommended to avoid running totally. Using right kind and comfortable shoes will reduce pain in the heel. Before buying shoes for running purpose make sure that the shoes do not bent from the middle of the shoes or at the ball of the foot. Contrasting cold and hot therapy, heel cups of silicone, heel pads made up of leather can help to speed up the healing process of the feet.
