All the cosmetic things do have a history. Probably the technology of twentieth century invented the nail polish. During the ancient times the nail coverings were unknown. The Egyptians belonging to upper class were using henna to dye both the hair and fingernails. But the manufacturing, handling and composition of nail polish is developed in modern chemical technology. Cosmetics for nails include not only polishes, but also sculptured nails, performed nails and nail-mending cosmetics. A nail polish is a cosmetic lacquer that dries quickly and that is applied to the nails of both the finger and toes, to color them and make them shiny.

Ingredients of nail polish:

The nail polish has ingredients that have the color, that provide wear ability. This helps to wet the nail to help the polish attach. Also theses help to apply the polish smoothly and dry the polish smoothly. There are 6 main types of ingredients used in nail polish. They are, plasticizers, dispersants, resigns, pigments, UV stabilizers, and solvents. But the ingredients used in most of the nail polishes are organic solvent and drying agents, thickeners and hardening agents, coloring and effects agents.

Reason to dry nail polish fast.

Drying is the unit operation to remove moisture from wet materials. Most of the nail polishes are made of cellulose nitrate dissolved in a solvent. It is either left clear or colored with various pigments. A solvent that is present in nail polish makes the polish to flow. The solvent may be acetone or alcohol. When the solvent goes away then there will not be any fear of flowing of the polish, and the polish dry fast. If the solvent evaporates too fast or too slowly it can ruin the polish coat.

Methods to dry nail polish fast:

There is no such particular method for drying a nail polish fast. People find their own methods to dry the nail polish fast. These few methods can be tried to make the polish dry fast. By dipping the nails in a bowl of ice cold water the nail polish can be dried fast. Also by blowing it can be dried.
