Dealing with Heel Pain

People always complain about pain in the heels when they have done a lot of running or kept their feet in constant action. Little do they understand how important it is to give rest and relaxation to the feet? The general pain experienced in the heels of the foot is called as heel pain and it is that sore condition of your feet where attention must be given at all costs. The neglect about the heel pain can cause chronic condition. There are different ways of treating heel pain, as there are really different kinds of heel pain in people. Dealing with any kind of heel pain is quite easy and if one follows simple guidelines one completely get rid of the heel pain that cripples your daily activities.

Why there is heel pain?

The reasons behind heel pain are generally not any kind of injury to the heel but the repetitive and overuse of the legs without any sufficient rest. Planter fasciitis is the major or most commonly found reason for heel pain. The Planter fasciitis is the pain one experiences at the bottom of one's heel. The pain is more acute in the morning when you get up from bed, this happens due to the stiffness during the night of the muscles. The Planter fasciitis kind of heel pain can become really unbearable if you are using shoes that do not provide adequate support to the arch of your foot. If the soles of your shoes are too hard to absorb the shocks during running or walking you are then more at the risk of developing a planter fasciitis. While running, playing, or walking if you turn all of a sudden then the shock generated puts a lot of stress on the feet. IF your calf muscle is abnormally tight then you might feel pain in the heel. When your feet constantly hit the ground while in a long distance running, the feet may be subjected to a hard pounding and greater pressure is there when you are running on a slope a ground or terrain that is uneven. Heel Bursitis is the heel pain that one experiences at the back of the heel. Improper landing on the heel or even pressure causes this pain from the shoes.

Treating Heel pain

For treating there are non-surgical methods and that involves exercises and stretching besides rest for the sore feet.
