Hyperhidrosis is a medical term for the commonly found excessive sweating disorder in many individuals. The primary function of the sweating in humans is of regulating the body temperature which is done by sweat glands which are of two types and the secretion of these sweat glands is controlled by the sympathetic nervous system in the body. The sympathetic nervous system is sometimes to be found as hyperactive in many individuals which is responsible for the hyperhidrosis disorder. The excessive perspiration in some people happens irrespective of temperature or any stressful emotion, and this causes some emotional problems in persons with hyperhidrosis. It has been observed in many individuals who suffer from hyperhidrosis that the state of anxiety can aggravate their excessive sweating, in some patients the hyperhidrosis condition is like a vicious circle because they get nervous due to abnormal sweating and then they perspire more because of nervousness. The causes of hyperhidrosis are sometimes attributed to the intake of some foods or drinks, and then the common king of many disorders is also nicotine, caffeine and certain smells can make one sweat. Hyperhidrosis is the abnormal functioning of the thermoregulatory glands of the human body.

Treating hyperhidrosis

The outright cure of hyperhidrosis has not been found yet but it can certainly be treated with medications. Aluminum chloride solution is the most commonly used medicinal solution in the treatment of hyperhidrosis. These solutions contain the aluminum chloride solution which works as an antiperspirant is available in many brands. Megadry solution is the antiperspirant which is a mild antiperspirant has in it aluminum chlorohydrate. There are many other antiperspirant brands which treat the hyperhidrosis condition are Certaindri, Drysol, Driclor, and Odaban, these antiperspirant treat the excessive sweating disorder in a very effective way. Aluminum chloride is the common ingredient in many of these antiperspirants. An antiperspirant should have a fifteen percent greater concentration of the aluminum chloride to treat the excessive sweating disorder. This kind of solution can treat and stop the excessive sweating disorder in about a week if the user uses it daily at night.

Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy or ETS

This is the surgery treatment for the disorder of hyperhidrosis. The sympathetic nervous system is mainly responsible for the excessive sweating disorder; in this treatment the surgeon can destroy the selected nerves by burning them or by cutting them which are in the chest. Another treatment is the sweat gland suction in which the sweat producing glands are permanently removed from the body.
