The adhesive capsulitis is commonly called as frozen shoulder which affects the soft tissue of the shoulder joint which causes immense pain and huge loss of motion for the patient. The case of frozen shoulder is not very rare to find but it affects people who have crossed their young age and have begun their journey to old age. The frozen shoulder disorder is mostly found in women who are in their forties and seventies. The cortisone injections contain hormones that are injected in the shoulder to reduce pain and inflammation. Cortisone is most frequently used steroid in the treatment of frozen shoulder and this injection has very good anti-inflammatory effect on the tissues and the joints of the bone. The cortisone steroids are different from the anabolic steroids which are used for muscular growth. Cortisone injections help to reduce pain of the shoulder within days and the effect lasts for a month, which is a very good relief for the patient.

Being on the safe side while using Cortisone injections

The cortisone injections contain steroids and are not a substitute for the drugs that cure the condition. The injections only reduce pain and cannot cure the frozen shoulder. These injections are prescribed as the last treatment option when the anti-inflammatory drugs and the physical therapy fail to give any relief to the patient, these injections have to be used only temporary unless the underlying causes have been determined.
