Carpal tunnel syndrome and doctor- Right person for the right disorder

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a disorder and not a disease. It is caused due to compression of the median nerve because of pressure or same movement of the wrist. The median nerve runs from the forearm into the hand. When it is pressed or squeezed, then the carpal tunnel disorder happens to the person. The case is more common in women than in men. People suffering from the disorder might feel tingling during the day, grip strength decreased or having difficulty in performing manual tasks. The recurrence of carpal tunnel syndrome following the treatment is rare. It means, once the disorder is cured it cannot happen to you again.

There are various reasons for the disorder. In some cases the carpal tunnel in the people is simply smaller than the other persons. Most likely the disorder is due to congenital disposition. The disorder may also happen due to rigorous movements of the hand, an accident in which the wrist of a person may be damaged causing swelling of the nerve. However the risk of developing the carpal tunnel syndrome is especially common in those performing assembly line works.

Doctor for the disorder

The symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome are feeling tingling in your hands in day time, weakening of the hands and many more. So if you have a pain or any other problem with your hand, then the first step taken for the treatment of the disorder is visiting a doctor. A physician knows a lot about the disorder and can definitely help you in curing the disorder or any problem with your hand and bones. Depending upon the pain or problem to your hand, he may suggest some treatments like regular exercises and some medicines to help reduce the pain. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to avoid the permanent damage to the median nerve. A doctor conducts a physical examination of the hands, arms, shoulders and neck to help him determine the patient's complaints. The doctors may also ask the patients to try to make a movement that could bring on the symptoms.

After the diagnosis is completely done by the doctor, he is totally aware of the condition of the disorder and then suggest some therapies or medicines in order to bring the effect of the pain for sometime. He could then mention some exercises to you so that the disorder is cured completely. If the effect is more than normal level, then chances are that he could suggest you to undergo a surgery that could help cure that disorder. So always go to a doctor for an advice as he is the best person to let you know about the condition and suggest the right treatment.
